A trip to Bendigo is not complete without a ride aboard one of Bendigo's famous Vintage "Talking" Trams.
Be delighted by the grand architecture of Bendigo as your tram tells you more about the city's golden past. It is a hop-on, hop-off tour which means that you can travel through the heart of the city and hop-on or hop-off the tram at any designated stop and wonder around at your leisure enjoying the many attractions, shopping and dining facilities that Bendigo has to offer.
Bendigo's tramway system dates back to 1890, when trams were used as a major source of public transportation. As a result of the public transport tram services ceasing operation the Vintage "Talking" Tram Tour was developed In 1972 with only four trams and the provision of a two-year trial of the tourist service. 37 years later the Bendigo Tramways now has a fleet of over 42 trams from all over the world which are enjoyed and admired by tram enthusiasts and visitors alike.
A highlight of the Vintage "Talking" Tram tour is a visit to the tram depot where you can see vintage trams being restored to their former glory.
